It's become much more intuitive how to switch now, although it takes a bit of mental effort from her to "hold on" so to speak. I end up switching back into the "front" every so often until I "oop excuse me" and hop back out

Luminesce: Switching for us is just the tulpa taking my place (so, being the human that is normally me/the host), and me essentially becoming a tulpa for the duration - and I can go inactive just as my tulpas can (default state when not paid attention to, really)(edited)

when someone is inactive, including the host, they just arent reacting to things at that time, they will still be aware of everything that happened once they are active again
As a switched-out tulpa most of the time, I and the others are not usually aware of what's going on because we're not thinking about it, not because we're incapable of knowing in the first place. Just now I had to take the time to think about what Gray and Ranger are doing. However, if I spent more time being active, I wouldn't need to invest much if any effort to be up-to-date in the moment.
When some of the non-host headmates aren't fronting, they aren't aware of anything in our experience

I would like clarification on this. There's a difference between a headmate having no access to memories whatsoever or being slow to catch up.
When I switched in recently, Ranger and Gray were definitely in the back. I felt really awkward mostly talking about stuff they have done, but I didn't lose the front. I would talk to Ranger or Gray sometimes, but in general I didn't keep them around for long.
Their "ghosts", unconscious thoughts, did annoy me and it sometimes woke them up, but I got used to it. The way we switch with the whole it must be headmate X until the next ritual makes stray thoughts not a concern.
That being said, Ranger learned how to switch like this. But you guys have sensory switching, right?
What counts as a switch for you again? What does a headmate experience when switched-in? I'm sorry if these are repeat questions, sometimes talking about switching can be confusing and half remembering someone else's experiences is not helpful
Yeah, she's always there, even when some of us aren't. The main reason we want her out stems from us feeling inherently uncomfortable having her be able to see when two people in the system who are dating want to have alone time with each other. (trying to be vague on purpose because it makes me uncomfortable)
I get that it might be a strange thing in specific to have a boundary with, but we'd just prefer to separate our relationships more, including her involvement at any given time.

We consider someone to have "switched" in when they're the one primarily thinking and acting for the body. When switched in, a headmate can speak, move the body, and be influenced by external stimuli (feel the enviroment, be emotionally/physically/mentally engaged in the enviroment), etc.

Sorry if this makes no sense, I think I'm rambling.
She sees through our eyes, feels everything around us in much the same way we do, and can return to front in a second's notice for any reason whatsoever.
Is there a time Mason isn't looking through the body's eyes?
